Little Vikings Camp
The 2008 Little Vikings Camp was a great success. Thanks again to all who participated. The high school players had a great time and did a fantastic job of coaching.
Each practice there was an obstacle course relay that was a highlight to most.
We ended each practice with the kids following Mason Boddy in a cheer.

Camp Competition Day
A great camp ended with team competitions on the last day. There were 8 teams with 12-15 per team. Berserkr Ball was won by Jake Thompson's team. Truck Push/Pull was won by Brayden Beck's team, Mason Boddy's team ran the truck into the goalpost (sorry Jake). For the tug of war they were seeded based on how they did in the first 2 competitions. It was a true double elimination bracket.
The winners Boddy's and T Down's teams(top 2 teams overall) were served by the losers (last 4 teams overall), who then ate last. 3rd and 4th had to serve themselves but were able to eat after the winners were served.

After breakfast we had talked about the 5 Be's of Summer. Be here, be healthy, be productive, be smart, be respectful. Have a great summer!!

Jake Thompson's team had the #1 seed going into the tug of war. They were beaten in the first pull by T Downs' team, Jake's team ended up 3rd.
As you can see it was Sock tug of war. They all had to pull in their socks. Mental toughness training!!

Viewmont Football 2008
We just finished Team Camp. It went great. There was a lot of excitement and spirit at practices.

We start out in big groups with Varsity and Sophomores separated

We split up into our individual groups for football fundamentals
We work on our offensive and defensive schemes
The players have time to get water. It has been perfect weather for football camp.
FUJI is a live drill Offense against Defense.
There is plenty of action on both sides of the ball but especially in the trenches.
Then we stretch and call it a day.

Jr. High Football Camp
This year we are trying something a little different with the 7th - 9th graders. Instead of a 2 day football camp we are going to do a summer long Speed and Power camp that will be held every Monday and Wednesday at 8-9 am at the high school weight room and field.
Our goal is to be able to help these young men become stronger and faster. The emphasis will be on general strength through body weight, medicine ball and dumbell exercises. We will emphasize specific running form and repitition.
Another goal is to get to know these young men and also for them to learn the expectations of Viewmont Football.
Quick Facts:
Who - incoming 7th - 9th graders
Cost - $40 - includes tshirt and 8 weeks of coaching
Where - High school weight room and fields (meet in weight room for warmup)
When - Monday and Wednesday 8:00 am from June 2 - July 31
How to register - pay at high school office, take receipt and registration to Coach Gunter, there are registration forms in the high school office.
